Ruby Red Hospitality plans to build a SpringHill Suites by Marriott in Brownsville, next door to the Embassy Suites by Hilton it is already building on Pablo Kisel Boulevard, MySA reported on May 7, 2026. The two hotels will share a parking lot near Sunrise Mall, on the north side of the city.

Hershal Patel announced the project on May 6 and told MySA it represents another $10 million to $20 million of construction investment. The hotel is planned with about 120 all-suite rooms, each with separate areas to sleep, work and relax and trundle beds that sleep up to six. Common areas include a business center, a 24-hour market and a fitness center.

Patel said work could begin as soon as fall 2026, with construction taking about 18 months once the foundation is poured. Crews were finishing the Embassy Suites foundation at the time, and that hotel could open as soon as late 2027.

Patel described Brownsville as a mature market with several different tourism streams, and MySA pointed to the city's broader growth, from new industry at the Port of Brownsville to SpaceX's nearby Starbase. The SpringHill Suites and the Embassy Suites are Ruby Red Hospitality's first two hotels in Brownsville. Both are on our In development page.
